Project Grow, initiated by the medical students of Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, is a community-driven endeavor dedicated to combating food insecurity in Boca Raton. Our mission is twofold: to create a flourishing community garden that provides fresh, nutritious produce to medical students and patients from a local free clinic, and to educate individuals about healthy eating and sustainable gardening practices. Your donations will significantly contribute to the development of our garden, encompassing raised beds and an array of fruit trees, and support our educational programs at the Caridad Center and local schools. We aim to nurture not only plants but also a healthier, more connected community.
Your generous contributions will be allocated towards:
1. Maintenance of raised garden beds and fruit tree orchards.
2. Educational materials offering nutritional guidance and gardening skills, to be used at monthly disease-specific nutrition workshops at the Caridad Clinic.
3. Tools and resources for expanding the garden and enhancing its productivity.
4. Initiatives to involve and educate local K-12 students in sustainable gardening and healthy eating.
5. Research and development for ongoing improvement and impact assessment of the project.
Join us in sowing seeds of change and growth in our community! ๐ฑ๐
