Clifton and Mar began dancing together in 2012 and quickly became known for their chemistry, musicality, and storytelling across American Rhythm, American Smooth, and Theatre Arts. Their partnership took them across the country and around the world, earning a reputation as both exceptional performers and beloved teachers within the Fred Astaire organization.
In 2024, they were invited to share their message beyond the competitive floor, presenting a TEDx Talk on the transformative power of dance in communities. For nearly a decade, Clifton and Mar have led the Delray Beach Fred Astaire Dance Studio, creating a space where artistry and heart come together. Under their guidance, students have earned top awards and national titles, reflecting their deep commitment to excellence, mentorship, and personal growth through dance.
Why Cabaret for a Cause?
We are passionate about the power of dance to change lives. Cabaret for a Cause gives young artists from FAU a space to grow, share, and be seen. For us, it is an honor to stand beside them, guide them, and contribute to a night that celebrates creativity, courage, and community.
Participating in this event is a way of giving forward what dance once gave to us — purpose, confidence, and connection.
We will present two distinct stories told through movement:
• One featuring Clifton and a female student
• The other featuring Mar and a male student
Both numbers will highlight the artistry of dance while showcasing the individual skills, growth, and performance abilities of our students.
