About

Vocalis Takes Flight

Florida Atlantic’s Vocalis treble ensemble has been invited to perform the European premier of Michael McGlynn’s The Wind Among the Reeds with the Orchestre Symphonique Bel’Arte de Paris on June 11, 2025, under the direction of conductor and Florida Atlantic faculty and alumna, (’97, ’01) Dr. Stacie Lee Rossow. In addition, Vocalis will have several concerts during their week-long residency in Paris and will be part of a large chorus to present Verdi’s Requiem- a once in a lifetime experience.

The ensemble will then travel to Dublin to perform the piano version of The Wind Among the Reeds in Mr. McGlynn’s home country at the LARK performance hall. While in Dublin, they will embark on several additional concert productions throughout Ireland. The entire two-week tour will showcase over forty Florida Atlantic students and faculty members in more than six concert events.

Students are actively fundraising to ensure all members of the choral group are able to participate in this lifechanging opportunity, however we need the support of the community and others to meet our $200,000 goal.

Sponsorship levels are tailored to accommodate varying group sizes, with $4,000 covering the trip for one person, $8,000 for two, and increasing accordingly. This is the first time in over twenty years a Florida Atlantic ensemble has been selected to perform in Europe and the first time an FAU faculty and alum will hold the baton.

Singer: $4,000

Duet: $8,000

Quartet: $16,000

Choral Section: $32,000
